YES WE DO! Summit Lawn Care of Queensbury provides landscaping to both residential and commercial clients. We do not do hardscaping. We specialize in basic landscaping and softscaping (mulching, hedge trimming, etc.)
Simple! All you need is some landscaping fabric or grab some old newspapers and lay on the ground around your plants. Then cover with about a two inch layer of mulch. This will prevent most weeds from coming up from below but you will always have seeds landing on top of your mulch which will eventually become a weed, but will be easily removed.
There is! You’re noticing small holes in your plants but don’t want to use harsh pesticides because of the potential damage to the environment. Thankfully, there a few safer solutions to your problem. Keep pests away from your plants and add nutrients to the soil by throwing your egg shells into your garden. Many people sprinkle cayenne pepper on the soil to keep critters away. Finally, you can always make a mixture of water and dish soap and lightly spray it on your plants. This will help keep bugs off your plants and is safe as well.
Yes! We do require a 50% down payment on “most” of our landscaping projects. This includes mulching and hedge trimming. Exceptions are made for smaller jobs.
Water plants as soon as they are in the ground! Let the water soak into the ground and then lightly water again until the soil is moist. For the first week try to water the plants everyday if possible (if not, then every other day at least) to give them the best chance. While proper watering is the most important factor in having a healthy plant it is important to remember to not over water your new plants!
